Bach Flower Remedies

The term 'Bach Flower Remedy' refers to products developed by Dr Edward Bach, a London homoeopath and bacteriologist.
Dr Bach became disillusioned with the side effects of conventional drug therapies and turned his research to the healing power of flowers. He believed that illness was a result of emotional or mental imbalance and that the unique properties of a plant could be used to cure an imbalance and restore health.
Dr Bach believed that harmful emotions were the main cause of disease and he classified the various emotions into seven main sections. These main seven sections were then divided further into 38 negative feeling categories. Each negative emotion is associated with a particular flower. He also developed a compound of five specific flowers called "Rescue Remedy" which is used in emergency situations or severe stress.

The Seven Emotional Sections are:-

Fearfulness
Uncertainty
Lose of interest in the present
Loneliness
Over-sensitivity
Despondence and despair
Over-concern for welfare of others

Flower Remedies are liquid preparations created by boiling parts of plants in pure water or by infusing them by natural sunlight for a long time. After these processes, the water is preserved in alcohol. Bach Flower Remedies are made from mostly British flowers.
